About Maya
Maya Azucena is a critically acclaimed recording artist and songwriter. Award-winning as both a singer and humanitarian, she’s toured much of the world to 40+ countries. She notably represented America at the recent International Expo in Dubai (for the second time, as she was also a performer at World Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan). Maya has been invited as a cultural envoy to more than a dozen countries, sponsored by the U.S. State Department and American Embassies, performing public concerts, workshops and motivational speaking on subjects such as Women & Girls Empowerment.
Doing it yourself fearlessly is not just Maya’s message, it’s also her personal journey. Despite the kinds of obstacles that made many fellow artists give up, Maya continues to forge ahead approaching her music career as an entrepreneur. A survivor of a violent relationship that caused her to turn pain into power through singing and songwriting, Maya has also become an advocate for women, youth and marginalized communities worldwide.
Maya founded I AM ENOUGH WORLD, an empowerment movement to overcome circumstances, trauma, and thought-trends which make us feel “not enough.” This coincides with the release of her EP by the same name, I AM ENOUGH.
